The Brazilian electronic artist Shigara and Berlin-based percussion virtuoso Hogir Göregen joined forces for a unique five-city tour across Brazil. This unprecedented live collaboration fuses the seductive pulse of contemporary Brazilian electronic music with the millennial rhythms of Anatolian and Middle Eastern percussion, offering audiences an unforgettable sensory experience. Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Shigara is a dynamic force in Brazil’s underground scene—known for her genre-blurring sets that weave together Afro-Latin beats, deep basslines, and queer, expressive energy. A key figure in collectives like HORNY, NBaile, and Veludo Festival, Shigara brings a bold vision of dance music rooted in resistance, celebration, and body politics. Joining them is Hogir Göregen, a master percussionist originally from Bitlis/Tatvan, Kurdistan, now based in Berlin. Trained in instruments such as darbuka, daf, davul, and tabla, Hogir’s performances are deeply immersive, tracing the cultural migrations of rhythm from Mesopotamia to modern global stages. Together, they create a hybrid live show—where modular grooves meet ancient pulse, and dancefloors transform into ceremonial spaces.

Hogir Göregen, originally from Northern Kurdistan, is a leading figure in the fusion of Anatolian and Mesopotamian rhythms with global soundscapes. Born in 1986 in Tatvan, he began his musical training at the age of nine at the Mesopotamian Cultural Center in Istanbul. He specialized in traditional instruments such as the davul, darbuka, daf and riq, studying under renowned master musicians. In 2006, he traveled to India to study tabla with Pandit Charanjit Chatur Lal, an experience that broadened his rhythmic approach and led to further journeys to the country. Since 2013, he has been based in Berlin, where he has collaborated with international artists and integrated an extensive lineup of festivals across Europe and Asia, including performances with jazz fusion and Balkan groups, baroque music concerts, and traditional Kurdish music, as well as major electronic music festivals such as Dekmantel, Fusion, Primavera Sound, and Roskilde, through special appearances in DJ sets and live acts. His versatility spans the daf, riq, darbuka, tombak, drum kit, and tabla, allowing him to build bridges between cultures and generations. Hogir is distinguished by intense yet sensitive performances that connect the ancestral with the contemporary, creating singular and immersive sonic experiences.
